Cessna 172 airplane may be lifted with a hoist of two-ton capacity attached by rings, which are optional equipment installed by Service Kit, or by means of suitable slings. Front sling should be hooked to each upper engine mount, and the aft sling should be positioned around the fuselage at the first bulkhead forward of the leading edge of the stabilizer. If the optional hoisting rings are used, a minimum cable length of 60 inches for each cable is required to prevent bending of the eyebolt-type hoisting rings.
If desired, a spreader jig may be fabricated to apply vertical force to the eyebolts
